Street Lighting - Ampthill and Maulden

Street Lighting - Ampthill and Maulden

28 July 2020

Back in 2018 residents from both Ampthill and Maulden contacted their respective council representatives regarding safety issues along Snow Hill. This stretch of road has no streetlighting and represents a real danger to our young people walking between our communities to attend schools and to meet socially.
After agreeing to jointly fund and work together on this project and following many conversations between all parties both Ampthill and Maulden councils are pleased to announce that this project has now been approved.
Between 24th August and 4th September, we now have confirmation of planned Temporary road closures to install 13 new light columns, the costs for this project will be met in full by Central Bedfordshire Council.
Both Ampthill Town Council and Maulden Parish Council would like to place on record their thanks to Phil Allen of Maulden Parish Council and CBC Councillors Mike Blair, Paul Duckett and Mark Smith for their support of this project.
