October 1st 7.15 for 7.30pm in the Chapter House at St Andrew's Church Ampthill, the first talk of our 24-25 Programme.
The Two Apothecaries - will take us back to medieval times and help us learn of the beliefs, medicines and folklore of the time surrounding the treatment of diseases and injuries, including how yarrow was used to treat wounds, comfrey to treat broken bones and mandrake to boost the love life! They will also explain how modern medicine is rediscovering historic remedies that work, BUT not for the reasons believed in at the time!
