Town Centre Road Closure - Christmas Lights - Sunday 21st November

08 November 2021

From 1.00pm to 9.00pm
Christmas Lights Switch on Event – Sunday 21st November 2021

Ampthill’s Christmas lights switch on community event is being held on Sunday 21st November 2021 in the town centre from 2.00pm, with the lights being switched on at 5.00pm. To provide a safer environment for those attending, and following advice and feedback from previous events, we have secured a wider road closure this year. This wider road closure will provide a larger area for people attending and make for a less crowded event.

The closure will result in the centre of Ampthill being temporarily closed to all traffic through a series of four road closures of all main routes into Ampthill town centre. The closure will operate between the hours of 1.00pm to 9.00pm. If it is safe to do so, the roads will be re-opened before 9.00pm.

The road closure will be manned via a road closure company and volunteer event personnel all connected via a single radio net. Physical roadblocks will be able to be removed at short notice in the event of emergency.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause but trust that you will appreciate the safety benefits for the event.
